My passion and expertise are in creatively using technology for teaching and learning. My specialty is leading highly effective teams and partnerships in developing training media. I'm an experienced trainer and training designer, a skilled project leader, and an excellent writer and presenter.

 PROFESSIONAL HIGHLIGHTS

  • I designed and developed over 200 web-based courses, including academic, compliance, and professional development topics.
  • I designed a highly functional Learning Management System used by US military and private sector clients.
  • I efficiently repurposed raw training assets into over $1,000,000 worth of training development kits.
  • I was a pioneering user of social networking and computer-mediated communication for education. I have given over 30 presentations on online learning both in the US and abroad.
  • I co-designed a marketing program resulting in over $250,000 in e-learning revenue per year.
  • I orchestrated the shift from a self-contained multimedia development house to an outsourcing project management team, saving the company over $500,000 in production costs. I mentored my media developers as they transitioned to effective outsourcing team managers.

2005 – Present: Senior Partner at Global Collaboration Partners, Fort Collins, CO

 

  • Management: leading multiple teams of subject matter experts, instructional designers, multimedia developers, and web programmers in all aspects of online training course development
  • Vendor Recruiting: identifying, evaluating, selecting, and negotiating with individual contractors and corporate vendors for e-learning media software development
  • Marketing: designing web experience, writing engaging web copy, and composing email blasts
  • Sales and Support: prospecting, qualifying, and closing sales of e-learning courseware and custom development;  servicing ongoing accounts
  • Instructional design and development: analyzing needs, developing objectives, collaborating with SMEs, storyboarding, shooting photos, recording/editing audio, developing Flash, evaluating final products
  • Clients include: Wright Patterson AFB, BAE Systems, Dupont Displays, US Dept. of the Treasury, Halliburton, Harley-Davidson, Benjamin-Moore, Gallagher Bassett, etc.

 

2001 – 2006: Manager of Product Development at TrainingOnline, Laramie, WY

 

  • Supervision: managing team of 33 (both onsite and offshore) instructional designers, multimedia developers, and web programmers in all aspects of online training course development
  • Negotiation: closing mutually advantageous partnerships with offshore affiliates
  • Project management: scheduling resources to meet aggressive deadlines for multiple simultaneous training development projects; interacting with client training development teams to produce over 200 multimedia courses for web delivery
  • Instructional design and development: analyzing needs, developing learning objectives, collaborating with subject matter experts, storyboarding/scripting, shooting photos, evaluating final products

 

2000 – 2001: Director of Instructional Systems Design at Dyvic Innovations, Inc., Cornelius, NC

 

  • Developing and implementing protocols for distributed teamwork/telework to allow experts from three states to collaborate efficiently and effectively
  • Writing educational and evironmental content specifications for multimedia online virtual environment for language learning
  • Developing bilingual (Spanish and English) online curriculum materials

  • Envisioning, proposing, and ultimately selling the idea of starting a distance education program to capture students unable to attend onsite English language courses
  • Developing and delivering online, computer-based, and classroom-based language curriculum: instructional content, assessment, graphics, navigational and interactive feature design
  • Managing communication among stakeholders, content experts, and media producers for distance learning initiative
